Gr\u00e4chen is the largest biking area in Valais<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Since 2019, the MTB region Visp – St. Niklaus – Gr\u00e4chen – Zermatt is one of the largest in Valais. And just between us – also one of the most beautiful. The mountain panorama with 14 four-thousand-meter peaks is unparalleled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Gr\u00e4chen, in the largest bike area in the Valais<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Uphill and downhill to the delight of every biker. Gr\u00e4chen is located in the Valais at 1600 meters above sea level. We are happy to say that the sunny region of Switzerland is the Valais and so is Gr\u00e4chen. Due to its location on the high plateau between the Mattertal and Saastal valleys, the clouds often don’t make it to us and so Gr\u00e4chen is not short of sunshine in spring, summer, autumn and winter with 299 sunny days. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flow trails, family loops, enduro and downhill – mountain biking diversity in every respect.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

310 kilometers is the network of trails, these consist of flow trails, mountain bike trails where fluid riding is possible along the entire length. Family loops, under 10 km, some with trail sections, developed road or gravel path. Medium and difficult enduro trails, that is, trails that go both uphill and downhill. Downhill routes that you can reach with our gondola to jet full throttle downhill, and of course narrow single trails for riding one after the other or alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Family vacation and active vacation in hotel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Gr\u00e4chen stands out as a family destination, and so it is not surprising that among the approximately 25 different bike tours there is also a “Gr\u00e4chen Little Family Bike Tour”, this is 4.8 km long, requires 150 meters of altitude and takes about 30 minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In total, there are 6 routes suitable for tots, which, in addition to the extensive children’s offer in the family resort, provide variety. You see, Gr\u00e4chen is particularly suitable for active vacations and that for young and old.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bike like the pros<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

But Gr\u00e4chen wouldn’t be considered a new bike hotspot if it didn’t also have an ultra course. In 2019, this was the “MTB Marathon WM route”, 93.7 kilometers and 4000 meters of altitude there to master. The men completed this course in about 4:30 hours, and the women completed the 70 km course in just under 4 hours. Do you accept the challenge?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are 5 stages in total, which are over 50 km long and can therefore be considered day trips. In that sense, “No mercy for the calf”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New flow trail route planned<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In autumn 2020 a new flow trail is planned, this should be suitable for hobby bikers and professionals. The 4 km long section is then rather another stage to the existing trails. The route leads from Hannigalp to Gr\u00e4chen and is intended to convey a roller coaster feeling due to its design with outside curve elevations and waves.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
